Contribution & Inclusion

Add a perspective. Make the room usable.

MBA track · 4 questions0/4

What they expect

Two things at once: will you add something distinctive, and will you make the room work for other people? Canadian schools ask this in plainer language than some US schools, but they still ask it.

A strong signal

A story with friction — not tourism. You changed how a group ran so more than one kind of person could contribute. Your own background is offered as material, not as a credential.

A weak tell

“I love working with diverse teams.” A story set in another country with no disagreement in it. Treating identity as the whole contribution.

Why this angle exists

Cohorts are international and group-graded. A brilliant jerk is expensive. A tourist is useless.

Canadian flavour

Sauder often asks for an EDI example. Queen’s Commerce video banks are heavily inclusion-and-repair. Desautels’ second essay is about teammate qualities and how you enhance others. INSEAD, if you add it, wants cultural dexterity with actual culture shock.
