School Fit

Why this program, not this ranking.

MBA track · 7 questions0/7

What they expect

Proof you applied to a teaching model, a recruiting map, and a city — not a brand. Three reasons that would not transfer to the next school on your list. What you will do in week three, not what the brochure says.

A strong signal

You name a course, a lab, a club, or a case-method habit and connect it to a skill gap. You have spoken to a student or an alumnus and learned something that is not on the homepage.

A weak tell

City, ranking, and one famous professor. Treating Canada as a consolation US M7. A Why-Rotman speech that still works if you swap the name to Schulich.

Why this angle exists

Yield. Schools do not want people who will bounce when a higher-ranked offer arrives. Fit is also a classroom question: Ivey cannot use you if you hate cold-calling; Smith cannot use you if you cannot live in a fixed team.

Canadian flavour

Ivey tests case appetite. Smith tests the mandatory team model. Desautels and HEC test whether Montreal is a reason or an afterthought. Sauder notices a Toronto-shaped story with Vancouver glued on. Rotman notices generic Self-Development Lab name-drops with no use case.
